Abstract:The Scripture Cabinet in the Zhihua Temple is the only Ming Dynasty Scripture Cabinet preserved in Beijing, which has more than 570 years. It has sophisticated layout, exquisite carving art and profound Buddhist doctrines. The Scripture Cabinet not only has the beauty of classical architecture, but also includes the designer's understanding of Buddhist doctrines. It is the manifestation of religious and cultural, and can be considered an unparalleled artistic treasure. This article briefly analyzes the Scripture Cabinet in the Zhihua Temple from four aspects: structural characteristics,decorative techniques, practical functions and profound implications, in order to feel the wonderful ideas of ancient Chinese craftsmen, appreciate the beauty of the Scripture Cabinet, appreciate the profound Chinese civilization and the endless wisdom of the Chinese ancestors.
