Abstract:The Great Buddha Temple in Xinchang is famous for its stone Maitreya statue and has become a temple garden with high historical and cultural connotations. This paper, we have sorted out the complete history of the construction of the Great Buddha Temple in Xinchang through the collation of ancient documents, combined with local chronicles, existing inscriptions and other historical materials. On this basis, attempted to analyze the spatial creation of this Temple, conclude that the spatial pattern of it has the characteristics of a sunken valley as a temple, and that the spatial sequence has the structure of a chapter and a sequence, and that its artistic technique of "the more the scene is hidden, the deeper the meaning" is worthy of attention and reference.
