Abstract:Yaopu Garden is the predecessor of Yipu Garden, which was Wen Zhenmeng's private garden in Ming Dynasty. The existing research has not yet systematically analyzed the gardening idea of Yaopu Garden. Based on the in-depth excavation of the existing historical materials, the garden elements of Yaopu Garden were studied in detail by the method of literature analysis and garden images, and the guiding significance of Superfluous Things for the constructive activities of Yaopu Garden was demonstrated. In three aspects, the old appearance of Yaopu Garden is further deduced and restored, and the coupling relationship between the inheritance and evolution of its gardening idea and the development history of Jiangnan Garden is explained.
