Abstract:17th-18th centuries are the critical period of landscape concept formation and practice of the LANDSCAPE, the core research object of modern landscape architecture. This paper first explained the original meaning of LANDSCAPE from the perspective of etymology. Then, it explained the reasons and mechanisms of landscape discovery through a detailed analysis of the independent background, theoretical methods, characteristics and auxiliary tools of landscape painting. The performance of this social reality feedback to language is that LANDSCAPE introduces Dutch landscape and its painting meaning on the basis of the original meaning and transforms it into a complete landscape meaning. Finally, it explained the guiding mechanism of landscape painting for landscape gardening, and proposed that the bridge between landscape painting, landscape and land practice is rational aesthetics based on natural numbers.
