Abstract:The “Dichuxuanjian” is an important Taoist proposition that has had a profound impact on the development of traditional art in China. The paper summarizes the three ways in which the “Dichuxuanjian” is realized in classical Chinese gardens, through which the gardeners operate an aesthetic environment, allowing the mountains, rocks, flowers and trees to show their unusual aspects under the aesthetics of the visitors without utilitarianism. The classical garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, is selected as an example to analyze the landscape of the garden and to demonstrate the three ways of realizing the “Dichuxuanjian” in the classical garden.
