Abstract:Pagoda is an important part of Chinese religious architecture, produced by religion and developed with politics. Stone pagodas witness the blending of culture and represent the development of art and style of the times and regions. Henan Province is rich in Grottoes resources and developed in stone carving construction technology. The ancient pagoda of Baiyun Temple has a history of hundreds of years. It is one of the few stone pagodas of Yuan Dynasty in the Central Plains, with beautiful shape and rich carving content. In this paper, starting from the carving style and decorative theme, through the comparison of two stone pagodas of Yuan Dynasty, the design idea and artistic connotation are explored.
