Abstract:Architectural color paintings are designed to protect wooden structures and are often updated due to damage, making it increasingly difficult to preserve them over time. The official style color painting of the Ming Dynasty played an important role in the development history of Chinese color painting, and its existing quantity is rare. This article examines the Yuzhen Palace in Wudang, Hubei Province, and based on on-site surveys, adopts typological methods to study. It is believed that the color paintings of the Longhu Palace in Yuzhen Palace have early Ming Dynasty characteristics in terms of large line composition, decorative design, and color setting, and belong to the newly discovered example of early Ming Dynasty official style Xuanzi color paintings. At the same time, by comparing with similar cases, identifying their decorative shapes, researching and exploring their original features, this newly discovered precious case enriches the existing research on Ming Dynasty official colored paintings.
