Abstract:The mainstream theory of cultural landscape conservation in China emphasises the people-oriented. We advocate reshaping local identity and strengthening cultural confidence by tapping into the emotional memory and historical value of cultural spaces. Previous conservation strategies have focused more on the shaping of the landscape space, ignoring the historical events behind it and the emotional preferences of its users. This is an important reason for the current loss of spatial significance of cultural landscapes. In view of this, this paper takes Moody Shantang Street as an example and deconstructs the morphological characteristics of the cultural landscape at the material, conscious and emotional levels with the help of mapping based on the theory of narrative space. Reconfiguring the narrative space of the cultural landscape. Provides a new perspective and entry point for the study of traditional cultural landscapes.
