Abstract:In the past, most of the research on the Society for Research in Chinese Architecture was concentrated in North China and the Central Plains, and not enough attention was paid to the academic value created by the society during the eight years in the Southwest. The research of the society in the southwest takes Kunming and Lizhuang as the two main workstations, this paper focuses on the three years of the society in Yunnan, through the combing of the history of the Westward migration of the society to Kunming and the research work during the Yunnan period, reproducing the academic history of the society in the three years after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, summarizing its research ideas after entering Yunnan and refining the characteristics of architecture of Yunnan, thus proposing the academic historical value created by the society during the Yunnan period and the importance of the research of the society in the southwest period.
