Abstract:Badong Yesanguan is an ancient town with a long history and various ethnic characteristics. Its traditional dwellings have the characteristics of Tujia and Han nationalities, with distinctive features, which are valuable traditional architectural cultural heritage in Hubei Province. Yesanguan is located in an ideal summer resort. It is located in a mountainous pluvial region with humid climate and low annual average temperature. After thousands of years of historical baptism and natural evolution, the traditional dwellings in this area have gradually formed their own special forms and practices in the design to adapt to the climate characteristics, especially in the moistureproof technology. Through on-the-spot investigation, surveying and mapping and literature review, this paper aims to investigate the special construction techniques and causes of Yesanguan traditional dwellings in moistureproof technology, and summarize its coping strategies and existing values for the climate adaptability of traditional dwellings in mountain humid areas of Southwest of Hubei province, with a view to deepening the research on traditional architectural culture in this area and providing theoretical support for the implementation of the national strategies of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.
