Abstract:In the early Qing Dynasty, East Garden in Yangzhou was a large-scale village country garden built by Qiao Guozhen, the son of Qiao Yu who was a salt merchant, and the garden no longer exists. Based on the existing studies, with the collation of relevant literature information and analysis of painting and historical documents, the author makes textual research on the location, site and layout composition of East Garden, and further tries to restore its plan in order to gain a new historical understanding of the East Garden and to provide a foundation analysis for the further exploration of its design ideas and concepts.
