Abstract:The temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of Daoism in Hubei Province reflect the interaction between the development of economy, culture, local religion and politics. On the other hand, Chu people believed in witches and ghosts and Taoism since ancient times, which made Hubei become a fertile land for the spread and development of Taoism. In this paper, taking the Daoism of Hubei Province in Ming and Qing Dynasties as the research object, using the method of religious geography, combing and sorting out Hubei local chronicles and other data, on the basis of data statistics, the characteristics of the time and space distribution of the Daoism of Hubei Province in Ming and Qing Dynasties are analyzed, and the main reasons for these characteristics are preliminarily discussed.
