Abstract:Buddhism prevailed in the Liao Dynasty, and various types of pagodas were born. The existing ones are mainly brick pagodas with dense eaves. Literature review, mapping and data processing of the existing Dense-eaves Pagodas of Liao . On this basis, the height H from the lower brick of the pagoda body to the upper brick of the pagoda eaves is selected as the research benchmark, and it is compared with the relevant dimensions of the pagoda body plane and the height of each component of the facade. According to the obtained data, it is found that H is related to the inscribed circle of the Dense-eaves Pagoda, and there is a certain ratio between the height of the eaves and the height of the body, indicating that the shape of the Dense-eaves Pagoda in the Liao Dynasty has a certain form. The evolution of the outline of the typical dense-eaves pagoda is analyzed, which also reflects the thinking of the Khitan people in the construction of high-rise buildings.
