Abstract:The traditional residential buildings in Wadian area of north China have outstanding characteristics of rain and flood adaptability. Taking the traditional residential buildings in Baiyang Lake as an example, this paper explores the ecological wisdom of traditional residential buildings by studying their site selection, scale characteristics, plane layout, elevation types, architectural structure and details, it enriches the research dimension of building climate adaptability. In the context of setting up xiongan new area, the research on the climate adaptability of buildings in Baiyang Lake Baiyang Lake can provide useful enlightenment and reference for the protection of architectural heritage and the construction of new area.
