“砖”作为建筑材料在我国已有数千年历史，砖的发明改善了中国古代建筑的质量，延长了建筑寿命。目前所见建筑用砖的最早实例是西周建筑遗址，至秦汉时期砖瓦业迎来初步发展，秦始皇大兴土木建造宫殿、陵墓等，青砖被用来砌筑台阶、踏步、拱券以及铺地等，随着时代的不断发展，日趋成熟的烧制工艺提高了砖瓦的质量和产量，砖也越来越多地作为墙面、地面建筑材料。至隋唐时期，砖瓦技术更加成熟，城墙、塔等越来越多地采用砖进行包砌。明清时期，制砖和用砖大量普及，砖也成为民间建筑广泛使用的建材，其中，以北京四合院为代表的北方宅院建筑，流行条砖砌外墙，方砖墁地等砌筑形式。

Abstract:

“Brick” as a building material has thonds of years of history in our country, the invention of brick improved the quality of ancient Chinese architecture, extended the building life. The earliest examples of bricks used in architecture are the architectural ruins of the Western Zhou Dynasty. By the Qin and Han dynasties, the brick and tile industry was undergoing initial development. Qin Shi Huang built civil buildings to build palaces and tombs, and green bricks were used to build steps, treads, arches, and paving floors, with the development of the Times, more and more mature firing technology to improve the quality and output of bricks and tiles, bricks are more and more wall, ground building materials. To the Sui and Tang dynasties, brick and tile technology is more mature, walls, towers, and more and more to use brick masonry. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, brick-making and brick-using were widely used, and brick was also widely used as building materials in folk architecture.
