Abstract:Located in the western suburbs of Beijing, Tanzhe Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the city. According to legend, it was built in the Jin Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,000 years. However, its architectural age does not seem to be that long ago. Based on a large number of historical materials, such as Steles in and around Tanzhe Temple, records of Xiuyun temple at Zheshan in the Qing Dynasty, pictures of the cause of Hongxue, records of Xiuyun temple at Zheshan in the Republic of China, and archival materials after the founding of the People's Republic of China, this paper presents an overview of the history of Xiuyun temple at Zheshan in the Qing Dynasty, this paper gives a rough estimation of the historical pattern of Tanzhe Temple Tanzhe Temple in different eras, analyzes the changes of the pattern and the influencing factors behind the changes, and then probes into the historical significance and modern value of Hong Kong.
