Abstract:The Sui Garden was located in the Qingliang Mountain of Nanjing. In the Qing Dynasty, Yuan Mei resigned from the government and built it on the basis of the old garden. It was destroyed when the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom captured Nanjing. Based on the results of the research on the restoration of the garden, combined with the historical materials, the paper studies and analyzes the relevant content of the gardening method from the aspects of the purpose of the intention, the location of the site, and the layout of the landscape, and discusses the artistic characteristics of the garden. In this way to enrich the cognition and development of the history of private gardens in the south of the Qing Dynasty.
