Abstract:Cangzhou Iron Lion, standing in Cangxian County, Hebei Province, the ruins of the ancient city of Jiuzhou for more than a thousand years. It was cast in the third year of the Later Zhou Guangshun (953 AD), is the largest cast iron artwork left in the early days of China, and is of great value to the study of China's smelting history, sculpture history, Buddhist history and so on.Because the iron lion has been eroded by wind and rain for thousands of years, coupled with the low-lying terrain, water soak, heavy rust, especially serious leg and foot defects, in 1984, the Cangzhou iron Lion successfully carried out a protective transfer, moved to its behind two meters high concrete pedestal. This paper records the whole process of transfer engineering of iron lion.
