Abstract:Chinese classical architecture is based on the wooden frame system. The older generation of architects created the method of 'Jian Zhu Zao'(columns reduction) in response to the demand for an expanded interior space. Lanzhou is a transitional area of ancient Cultural exchange between east and west. Local people have created three forms of 'Jian Zhu Zao' that have not been introduced in literature in terms of ways to expand the interior space of the building.
