元大都和义门

Heyimen Gate of the Great Capital of Yuan

摘要:

1969年6月，在修建北京地铁二期工程中，拆除北京内城西墙北端的西直门城楼及箭楼时，在箭楼台基中意外地发现一座保存良好的砖券洞城门，这就是元大都西城墙和义门瓮城城门。出土的旧瓮城城门券洞结构，是在两座门墩中间起四层砖券。当时正值浩劫之时，所幸保留下了全部考古资料。

Abstract:

In June 1969, during the construction of the second phase of the Beijing subway, dismantled Xizhimen gate tower and embrasure watchtower at the north end of the western wall of Beijing. Unexpectedly, a well-preserved brick arch gate was found inside an embrasured watchtower platform base. It is the barbacane gate of the Western wall of The Yuan Dynasty capital, named Heyi gate.
