Abstract:China began to use copper items as early as in the late primitive society. Since the Sui and Tang Dynasties, with the development of smelting technology, copper products have been widely used in the decoration of traditional architecture. Iron smelting technology can be traced back to the late Spring and Autumn period. Ming and Qing dynasties in mining, smelting, steelmaking, casting, forging, heat treatment and other aspects have made progress ,in the construction of a large number of iron parts. This paper introduces in detail the specification, size and the part used of copper ornaments and iron ornaments in traditional architecture.
