Abstract:Shiwan town, Foshan city, has a history of more than 1,300 years. It became a ceramic producing area from the Tang Dynasty and had a certain scale in the Song Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Shiwan entered a prosperous stage and developed into one of the comprehensive ceramic production bases in southern China. Shiwan coloured glaze is called the "southern style" coloured glaze. Its main characteristics are different from the imperial system-- the northern "imperial kiln" products, the shape, structure, specifications and other aspects are more bold and unrestrained, known for its rich and bright glaze color, elegant and solemn style, glaze unchanged for a long time.
