Abstract:The Katsura Imperial Villa in Japan occupies a very important position in the history of Japanese architecture, garden making and culture and art history. It is a super national treasure of Japan. In order to ensure the long-term preservation of The Katsura Imperial Villa, the Imperial Household Agency of the Prime Minister's Office spent six years from 1976 to 1982 to overhaul the Katsura Imperial Villa. The garden of Katsura Imperial Villa is typical of the edo period. The basic principle of overhaul is "keep the same look". Before the overhaul, the current situation of the building was investigated in detail, and in the process of repair, advanced technology was used to do a variety of research on the building, so that the whole repair work achieved a relatively perfect effect.
