Abstract:Emperor Qianlong ordered the construction of the Orchid Pavilion in the Old Summer Palace. It is one of the 40 views of the Old Summer Palace. After the old Summer Palace was destroyed, the eight-pillars and stone screen of the Orchid Pavilion were moved to the Summer Palace in the second year of Xuantong (1910), and then moved to Zhongshan Park around 1933. In 1971, the eight-pillars were used to build an octagonal double-eave coloured glass roof Orchid pavilion in the west of Tang Hua Wu in Zhongshan Park, which was set on the original stone screen.
