Abstract:China has a long history of gardening. There were gardening methods in the late primitive society more than 5,000 years ago. Horticulture greatly developed and greatly improved in the Qin and Han dynasties. The development of urban greening and temple gardens rose in the Wei-Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties. Villa style gardens flourished in the Sui and Tang dynasties. The art of rockery and stones reached its climax in the Song, Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties, and the last peak of Chinese classical garden was in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Chinese garden art has formed its own unique style, enriched the content of the world garden art, and received the attention of architecture and garden researchers at home and abroad.
