中国古建园林技术有着几千年的悠久光辉历史。我国古代工匠发挥了高度的智慧和才能，创造出独特的中国古建园林建筑体系，在设计、造型艺术和施工操作技术方面，都有很高的造诣，著称于世。应该继承和发展中国固有特色的古建园林传统技术，特别应该抢救古建园林老工人的经验，把古老传统技艺认真传下去。总结整理工程实录和设计施工经验，使之成书流传。并应进一步从理论上加以分析总结，以便更好地继承祖国的宝贵遗产。
