园林营造的工程技术，传之于书的绝少。我们亟应组织力量，调查、测绘、分析老一辈匠师的作品，总结匠师关于掇山、叠石、理水、园林建筑等精巧的技艺和丰富的经验，和从古籍文献中发掘有关的资料，进行科学的整理，《古建园林技术》期刊的问世，提供了出版的园地，使得宝贵的营造园林的工程技术和经验的传统，得以传世留存。

Abstract:

The engineering techniques of garden construction are seldom handed down from books. It is urgent for us to organize forces to investigate, map and analyze the works of the older generation of craftsmen, summarize their exquisite skills and rich experience in rockery, stones, water management and landscape architecture, and excavate relevant materials from ancient books and literature. for scientific arrangement, the publication of the journal "Traditional Chinese Architecture and Gardens" provides a publishing site, so that the valuable tradition of engineering technology and experience in building gardens can be handed down and preserved.
